  • Are there any foods that can interact with Methylene Blue?
Yes, there are certain foods that can interact with Methylene Blue. Foods with high doses of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) or foods high in Vitamin C such as oranges, and grapefruit can help your body create leuco-methylene blue, which is normal. However, it "might" increase the effect of methylene blue on the system. It can be a concern with very high amounts of methylene blue. Leuco-methylene blue acts faster as an anti-oxidant. It is possible but rare that consuming foods high in tyramine such as aged cheeses, cured meats, and fermented products should also be avoided as they can increase blood pressure and potential side effects of Methylene Blue. It is best to consult with your healthcare provider or a qualified pharmacist before taking Methylene Blue. At Neuroblue Solutions, our priority is to ensure the safe and effective use of our products, and we encourage our clients to consult with their healthcare professional regarding any potential interactions.
